The initiative “Germany – Land of Ideas” has run the national contest “365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas” for the fifth time this year. The contest offers institutions that demonstrate the multifaceted potential of Germany as a place of innovation a panel to present themselves to a large public. More than 2.200 research institutes, companies and art and cultural institutions competed for the title “Selected Landmark 2010”. With its project “Mensch Maschine!” SemVox is now one of eleven “Selected Landmarks” from the Saarland together with the “Visualisierungszentrum” at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) and the project “Bildungspartnerschaft” of the Saarland Chamber of Commerce and Industry. There will be an acceptance ceremony in Saarbrücken, where SemVox will be honoured as one of the “Landmarks 2010” by Peter Müller, the prime minister of Saarland. On 2 August 2010, SemVox will present itself as “Landmark 2010” with an open house day.
The initiative “Germany – Land of Ideas” was founded in 2006 and is under the patronage of Federal Minister Horst Köhler. The 365 “Selected Landmarks” were chosen from seven categories by an independent selection committee: economy, environment and energy, science and technology, education and youth, art and culture, society and social welfare as well as sports and tourism.
