BabbleTunes

The BabbleTunes system is based on the ODP (Ontology-based Dialogue Platform) framework by SemVox. It enables an intuitive and language-centred interaction with the iPod. The users thereby have access to their entire music collection and are able to request a song via simple utterances such as “Play ‘Beautiful Day’ by ‘U2’”. Such a user interface makes it possible to access all basic functions of an MP3-player via natural language without having to learn pre-defined commands. Besides this mode of operation, the user can always choose to operate the MP3-player via touch screen. One of BabbleTunes specialties – besides being close to real-time processing – is the possibility to access any music content via an iPod interface which uses linguistic methods to access new, often multilingual content via spoken interaction. The semantic linking of local media with contents from the World Wide Web is unique in this form.
